Comments: I have used the same mechanic for over 15 years but, on this occasion he let me down and I drive past this garage on my way home from work so I thought I would give it a try and I was glad I did obviously being used to dealing with my mechanic I was a bit nervous about using a new garage, but, I didn't have to worry as I was met with a friendly and helpful lady called Sam who wasn't at all pushy and explained everything my car required and I was very pleased with the result thanks Sam.

Comments: I have used this garage for several years for servicing, MOTs and recently for a mechanical repair in an insurance claim after my car was reversed into on the way to work! My car is old enough for most insurers to have scrapped without even thinking about it, but the garage owner at AJF Motors knows it is a good little car and also has some sentimental value for me. He took the time to convince the claims adviser that was worth allowing the repair! They have done a great job and I am about to get my little car back. Always helpful, easy to talk to and efficient too. I am happy to encourage other women (and men!) to use this garage.

Comments: After an ongoing problem with my Kangoo, two visits to local garages, including a Renault main dealer, a lot of money spent and still no fix, I was recommended to try Steve Smith by a work colleague and I'm very glad I did. I went down to see him on my lunch break, where he inspected my van and found the problem straight away; a faulty injector, which the other garages failed to spot. The Renault dealer believed it was a wiring loom fault, and the other local garage thought i needed a new head gasket and maybe a new turbo. I booked it in with Steve and he promptly replaced the injectors. I was so happy with his service, I also booked it in for a cambelt change, full service and MOT. Steve's pricing was very good, his service is second to none and i cant recommend him enough.

Comments: I took my Audi to these guys to get its annual service last month (always a great time to spend money!). I was recommended this by a colleague as I'm forever moaning about garages which treat me like an idiot (I'm not, I just don't know or care very much about how cars work), then overcharge me because they think they can get away with it. But these guys were great. They were friendly and welcoming, the place was clean, not a grease monkey's paradise, and more to the point, they explained everything to me so I could properly understand. And then the cost was really reasonable, especially compared to what I've paid in the past. I'll use these guys again, and definitely recommend them. I think it's because there's a woman in charge! Comments: What every woman wants from a garage! 1st time visit. A friend recommended Rob as I was in Manchester for work and having car trouble. The team not only looked at my car over their lunch hour but dropped me at my client so I didn't miss my meeting and told me to ring them on the way home down the M6 if I had further problems and they would come out and sort.They also explained the issue to my regular garage in Nottingham so I didn't have to explain what had gone wrong.

Comments: My car needed its MOT and these guys had been recommended to me by friends. I knew it needed a bulb fitting and the exhaust needed attention. I didn't know it was going to fail the emissions test so badly! Simon collected my car in the morning, and returned it to me later that day with a new MOT and for an excellent price. Comments: I've been using Nuffield Motors for over a year now and they have never, ever let me down. They are always welcoming and friendly and know me by name. Yesterday my car had it's Coolant Warning Light come on and when I had a look in under the bonnet, noticed that the car had had a massive wee underneath it and no water in the expansion tank. One call to Nigel and the car was booked in, taken to the garage and they even gave me a lift back to my place of work. They do have courtesy cars if needed. I was advised that they couldn't look at the car until Wednesday (which was fine by me) but lo and behold, I get a phone call today and less than 24 hours later my car is back in action. I only ever take my car to Nuffield Motors now for Repairs, Servicing and MOTs.

Comments: As soon as I entered I felt warmly welcome by all. The waiting area was spacious and comfortable with lots of reading material and things to look at; I was offered a cup of tea while i waited. The waiting area has a window to the workshop floor so you can watch as they fix the problems with the vehicles. Both reception staff and mechanics' alike were warm and friendly. They were upfront and honest with the problems and explained in a way that wasn't jargon. I went in and all the issues with my car were fixed while I waited and considering how much it needed and how much I though it would have cost, I was more than surprised when I received my bill and how low it was. When I have been to garages before I've felt really out of place and have in other places been advised to do things that aren't necessary and not being able to put my foot down as I felt intimidated. H&B was so open and honest that I didn't feel intimidated at all and felt that I could talk to them and they would give me an honest answer to keep the car on the road for an affordable price. For the Service, quality of work and welcome from all involved; it is somewhere I would definitely go back to and highly recommend.

Comments: Over the last 6 years we had our Land Rover serviced at Gumtree. For the last 2years (after my husband died) I found much support from John with any problem with the car and due to my lack of knowledge felt I could trust John completely if there was any major work to be done. Comments: I would recommend you do not step near this garage to either buy a car (Selsey showrooms) or take your car there to be fixed (Sidlesham). My engineer father reviewed my car after buying it from them and found: - cables not in their fixings - illegal spare tyre - power steering fluid under the minimum limit - little oil - other tyres needing replacing - tracking needed doing The car has since spent more time with the garage than with me (I bought it in September last year). At one point when I bought the car back as the work had obviously not been done, they tried to bully and even lied to me to the point that I rang a male friend during the altercation (they changed their behaviour after this). I definitely felt that they would treat males different from females. They didn't return phone calls, couldn't be bothered to do the car quickly, smoked in the garage, didn't do the work they said they had - overall their customer service was lousy. Cowboys - steer well clear ladies (and gents).

Comments: They tried to charge me £400 to replace tyres because of cuts. I went to a tyre specialist to get them replaced and asked them to check where the cuts were; they found NO DAMAGE AT ALL to the tyres. Honda apologised and asked to see the car again. They then circled the cuts in yellow chalk, but they were gravel indents that were not serious at all, not cuts.

Comments: This garage offered to unstick a jammed seatbelt and rang to tell me the car was ready, but when I went to collect it, the car was not there. It had apparently been taken on an hour-long 'test drive'. I asked why and was told I didn't understand the first thing about cars. When the car was finally returned to me I felt in a very uncomfortable position with an extremely abusive man. In the end I wasn't charged, but I felt very unsafe and have had a horrible experience. I would strongly advise people not to use this garage - especially a woman like me!

Comments: I've been going to Mick at Autoworks for a few years following my daughter's recommendation. I've always found him and all his staff very helpful. Nothing's too much trouble. He's serviced 3 cars for me now and actually found me my last car. My previous car died and the AA took me back to Autoworks on a Saturday morning. Mick arranged to scrap the car and found me a replacement vehicle within budget. He was delayed by a day getting the car serviced for me due to staff sickness so he drove the car up to Oldham for me at no extra cost. Truly exceptional service. I recommend Autoworks highly. PS Cleanliness - this is a workshop rather than a garage but it's absolutely fine for its purpose.

Comments: Its a garage, I wouldn't expect it to be clean! I can't rate this place enough, I hate having to go to garages but I never feel intimidated here. They also are very honest, no pressure, I had a service and was advised I would need new brakes but not for another 2k miles; some garages would have said I needed them there and then. I now have my sister go there as well. When i was looking to buy a car I suggested what I was looking at and they advised me against it, as that one always had things go wrong. They advised me which car would have the least return trips to the garage - brilliant service.

Comments: This is the second time I have visited this dealership and it is so refreshing to have happy, helpful people that give the impression that they are totally committed to help. They explained everything clearly and not once did I feel uncomfortable as a women. Their service advisor, Hollie, was friendly, professional and lovely to deal with. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Grants to anyone looking for an honest, friendly garage.

Comments: Excellent service, very friendly staff. It was very competitively priced and the technicians didn't make you feel as though they were patronising you. Some garages can be intimidating to female drivers but Grants made you feel like a regular, albeit important, customer. They were even friendly and interactive towards my 10 month old son! Highly recommend them.

Comments: Always made to feel very welcome and nothing is too much trouble. Friendly lifts to and from the garage, if needed. One mechanic even showed me the need for replacing the exhaust. Educational - first time underneath a car. Came to collect the car through bad snow drifts to replace the battery, so it would be ready when I could get out again.

Comments: I visited this garage last month and found a lovely welcome. The two boys were friendly, welcoming and above all else totally transparent. I could see through the window in the waiting area, they were not afraid for me to see what they were doing, they explained what they had done and showed me the parts that they had changed. I was amazed how professional they were and how open and honest and then there was the reasonable price. Amazing garage.

Comments: I have used this family run garage on a number of occasions, for both body repairs and mechanical work and each and every time I have had superb service. The staff are polite, courteous and really know their stuff. They always have a courtesy car for me which they even offered to drop off at my home address (which is a massive help when working long hours). Brilliant service!

Comments: I was really impressed with 3 Cross MOT Centre. They were very friendly and welcoming - as a woman sometimes it can be intimidating visiting a garage. They made me feel at ease, I had a coffee while I was waiting and I noticed they even had baby changing facilities. I would definitely recommend this garage to all my friends, keep up the good work!

Comments: I called this garage after a friend recommended them. I had a rattle underneath my car and it did seem to take a while to fix as they said it wasn't obvious. When I asked how much it was, they replied, just put a bit of change in the charity box, that would be fine.

Comments: This garage outwardly seems a very male orientated place, but attitudes were professional and once the MOT was completed the staff were then chatty. It could be made better for women with an area where you know someone hasn't sat down before you in dirty overalls. There is a seating area but I was wearing white cut-offs on a hot day and so a separate area for clean and a separate area for oily clothes would be a good idea...just a thought, I will go back though as I feel this garage deserves support.

Comments: Supposedly a head gasket, quoted at £350, which I could barely afford, now ended up with a completely undriveable wreck needing a new engine, and a possible bill from this garage of over £2,000. And they hired my transporter trailer twice, to carry customers cars etc, for over three weeks, and refused to pay for it. What a disgusting way to treat a widow. Garages like this should be closed down.

Comments: I was recommended to BRC by a friend. Whilst on site they noticed some scratches on my car so I agreed to have these done. They collected and delivered my car back and gave me a courtesy car. The service I received was great and not what I expected.
